Hi,
I am a make up artist and I work in film and TV. I am interested in the make up used in freestyle competitions and I have a range of make up's which I feel would be of interest to dancers
Hello Max. My grandaughter wears diamantes on her hair and face for competitions and i was advised to use pritt gel to stick them on with. When we took them off for her Rock 'n' Roll she was left with small dots on her face where it had took her spay tan off. Any suggestions. x Ann
Hello Max. How great to have a professional make up artist on this site. You should advertise your ideas im sure the dancers will be very interested in your tips. x
Hi Alison,
Good to hear from you, as I have siad I am a professional make up artist working in film and Tv, I also work with the Ben Nye, Graftobian and Mehron make up companies who all make great make up that I think would be great for freestyle dance.
Not knowing to much about the dance scene { but wanting to find out more) I would say you need a good skin colour and also good eye make up.
I would suggest a bronzing body tint by Ben Nye great for both male and female use, it is applied with a hydra sponge, its water resistant but can be removed with soap and water , its safe and good looking. or we apply a bronzing tint by airbrush.
The eyes need to set the face off and using colours which go with the costume add to the effect again use a good quality film, theatrical product, it mite be just a little more expensive but you get more from it, these products are designed to be seen under bright lights so do not get washed out.We have used a glitter glam liquid skin sparkle for eyes and also luster powder in with magic set mixing liquid for eye make up, great colours.
Use a setting spray to fix the make up, this will keep it in place all day and make it smudgeproof.and it protects costume
If this is used as a barrier under make up it does combat sweat.
I hope this mite be of help to you, I would like to look into doing more with dance make up supply and demo's so any ideas of what mite be of interest to people would be great.
Thanks for getting in touch and feel free to ask any questions you mite have on make up.
