The Future Of YourTheDancer 2009
Hi guys just a note to let you all know the plans for YourTheDancer in 2009, What we are currently working on for the site and new additions that we hope that you all will make good use of and have some fun with.
I would also like to take this opportunity to outline our aims for the site and to ask for your help in improving YourTheDancer.com.
NEW FOR 2009
I would just like to wish you all a very happy and succesful New Year to every member of YourTheDancer.com and thank you all for your continued support over the past year, we are only one member short of 100 and we hope to increase the number of members in 2009.
There have been very few updates to the site recently because we have been very busy researching different types of dance to add to the site, we have almost completed our research and will be adding this new information to the pages very soon.
We have also been adding new dance schools and competitions for 2009 and emailing many more asking for information and to add them to the site too.
We have a few more updates in the works but we would like to keep them a secret for the moment, but we are always open to new ideas and suggestions from you guys on improvements to the site and your input is important to us, afterall it is you guys who have made this site possible.
Website Aims
You dont have to be the biggest website in the world to be the best and our aim is to be the best dance website on the Internet, to achieve this we have set some goals that we hope to reach in 2009, and with your help we will reach them.
1) By the end of 2009 we hope to have over 1000 members of YTD, Please help us to achive this goal by inviting all of your friends, dance teachers, parents to sign up.
2) At the moment YTD is running at a loss, we are not making any money from the site we hope to turn this around with sponsorship and this takes us back to goal 1 we need more members before we can get sponsors, we are non profit website any money that we make from the site will be put back into the dancing community, in the form of Grants to dance schools or dancers voted for by the members of YTD, this will be discussed in more detail if and when YTD starts making a profitable income.
3 We hope to have the largest Directory of Dance Schools and Competitions on the Internet, IF YOUR SCHOOL IS NOT ALREADY REGISTERED WITH US PLEASE EMAIL US THE DETAILS, INCLUDING EMAIL ADDRESS AND A WEBSITE LINK IF YOU HAVE ONE.
4 We don't just want dance teachers and students to join the site we want to create an online dance community, where Teachers, Dancers, Parents of dancers, competition promoters, Graders, judges, competition sponsors, costume makers and anyone else involved in the dance world can all get together in a friendly environment and share their ideas in their love of dance without predjudice.
Please remember you can put anything you want to on your personal pages here if you are a promoter or a costume designer feel free to advertise your items on your pages, and if you are a dancer selling or looking to buy a costume or any other dance related item please feel free to post them in the forums.
HELP WANTED
As the website grows we will need a little help to police the site, and in the next few months we will be asking for people to help us moderate the interactive forums and chat room, we cannot afford to pay anyone for their help at the moment but maybe at some point in the future that will change, if you would be interested in becoming a moderator please email myself of Scotslass from our profile pages and we will get back to you asap, I would like to thank everyone in advance.
